‘The City We Love’ Steve Hansen Commemorative Art

First appearing on the cover of The City We Love: A Retrospective, Councilmember Steve Hansen 2012-2020, this original piece by Amber Witzke is now available to own as an art print! The colorful artwork encapsulates Steve’s impact on Sacramento’s District 4 during his time in office, from his work in advancing LGBTQ equality to parks improvements, transportation, and arts and education. Visual elements dance in and out of the Latin phrase “Urbs Indomita,” Sacramento’s original motto, meaning “Indomitable City.”

As the first openly gay councilmember, Steve has always championed LGBTQ rights, access, and equality. Amber is happy to team up with Steve in donating all proceeds from the sale of this print to The Laurie McBride Scholarship, started by the Stonewall Foundation of Greater Sacramento, to cultivate advocates fighting for equality with consensus building, commitment, and resolve.

This print comes without a frame, but you can add one to your purchase. Choose between a white or black modern wood frame with a slightly convex 1 inch surface and a smooth, satin finish. Hardware for hanging is also included.
